CHILD PROTECTION POLICY

All new Saikyou members are required to complete a form giving details of their Name, address, phone number, date of birth and parent/ guardian’s signature to give consent to join the club. You should make the Sensei aware of any medical or pre existing conditions.

We always use instructors that hold a Enhanced CRB Certificate. Lessons will not usually be taken by anyone who does not have this vetting.

We strive to ensure that all children and vulnerable persons can enjoy Karate in a safe environment, and parents can be confident of their child’s safety. Saikyou is an equal opportunity club, and we enjoy to work with students who may have a disability, encouraging them to participate as fully as possible.

Parents are allowed to watch, but better if you join in!. If you are leaving your child at the club, please come into the dojo to collect your child afterwards. Please ensure you arrive at least 5 minutes before the lesson is due to finish.

All our instructors have:-

  • Full Indemnity Insurance
  • Disclosure & Barring Service (CRB) Certificate to enhanced Disclosure (now known as DBS)
  • JKA England Coaching License
  • Hold a JKA England Instructor Qualification
  • Hold a NSPCC Child Protection certificate
  • Hold a Sports related First Aid certificate

The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced Certificate is only issued after in-depth research by the official agency via Police criminal records and other sources into the background of an applicant.

All checks are carried out to Enhanced Level to accord with Child Protection.
